Dictionary

I use a lot of abbreviations and words that don't make a lot of sense, so here is a list of words with explanations as to what they mean.

MIL = Mother in law

SIL = Sister in law

TUSAL = totally useless stitch along. This is a blog game where members post a photo of their ORT jars on the New Moon of every month. Originated by a blogger called Yoyo. Currently hosted by Daffycat. for more info see this post http://itsdaffycat.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/totally-useless-stitch-long.html?commentPage=2

Frog or frogging = The bane of all stitchers! Frogs are misplaced stitches that must be ripped out. This is a play-on-words of the sound a frog makes - "Rip-it, rip-it!"

ORT or ort = Capitalized, it stands for Old Ratty Threads. These are the cast-off thread ends a needleworker cuts away. These ends are often saved in clear jars as a decorative object. This word, "ort" does appear in the dictionary, meaning: a bit of something left over; usually concerning food.

Stash = Craft stuff. We usually "stash" this in our supply cabinets.

WIP = Stands for Work In Progress. This is a project that is actively being worked on.

UFO = Stands for UnFinished Object. This is a project started but not completed. Usually has the connotation of a project not being worked on.
